Renovation of a 3-storey house in Spetses

We undertook full renovation of a house built in the 1990’s on a plot of 2.005m² in Spetses. The land is outside the zoning area within beautiful green surroundings, its irregular polygon shape looking at the sea from afar. The task encompassed change of the interior layout in all floor levels, site design and altering the building’s exterior to more traditional forms and construction materials. Inside, we linked the ground floor with the basement (190m² area formerly used entirely as storage place), by a staircase, thus creating a big multiple-purpose room, an apartment of two master bedrooms, kitchen and living-room, accessed also from outside, while limiting the storage space to the back side of the floor plan. The ground floor was redesigned to an apartment of 110m² with two master bedrooms and open-plan kitchen, dining, living-room. Both bedrooms have direct access to the swimming pool area. The most prominent asset of the first floor is the large veranda which overlooks the wonderful garden and further the sea. In 80m² we designed a single bedroom with en suite bathroom apartment which is accessed by outdoor stairs. For the building’s exterior, i.e. its elevations and its surrounding space, a new approach was followed with reference to traditional forms, elements, materials, colors.
